InnerCity Tennis’ Northside Legacy Program Featured on Twin Cities Public Television
TPT’s crew filmed the Program this past February at V3 Sports in North Minneapolis. The Northside Legacy Program served students in 2nd-5th grades four days per week during the school year. The curriculum focused on introductory tennis instruction, literacy development, and lessons on ICT's core values. We are especially grateful to The Gage Family Foundation, USTA Northern, and C.H. Robinson for their support of this program.
Summer Tennis in the Parks
Summer Tennis in the Parks has kicked off at 7 neighborhood parks around Minneapolis. The program offers introductory tennis lessons for youth, and will be led by ICT’s certified tennis pros. This year’s program has been adapted to provide high quality instruction that is flexible and accessible while prioritizing the health and well-being of our participants and coaches. Features include: weekly registration options; limited class sizes; low player to coach ratios; and scholarships for youth in need.
Stand for Justice
Thank you for all who came out to Stand for Justice at Martin Luther King Park last Friday. We were grateful to see so many of you sharing your voices, speaking out, and donating much needed supplies for our outreach participants and their families.
If you were unable to join us, but would like to support our efforts, there is a donation link to our Community Outreach Fund below.
Skip Gage Memorial Fund
The InnerCity Tennis community mourns the passing of our Chair Emeritus, Skip Gage. This is a tremendous loss for all of us who had the privilege of knowing him and being touched by him. Over the past four decades, he served InnerCity Tennis as a Board Member, Board Chair, and for the past 10 years, Chair Emeritus. His leadership, wisdom, and compassion will be dearly missed.
He was a frequent visitor to our Outreach programs, especially those in North Minneapolis, and it was so rewarding to see his smile as he watched our youngest players learn the game he loved so much. Our InnerCity Tennis family will continue to be guided by his frequent reminder: “It’s all about the kids.”
We will strive to build on Skip’s legacy of serving the underserved and carry forward his positive, indomitable spirit in pursuit of our mission. Gifts to InnerCity Tennis can be made in his memory through the Skip Gage Memorial Fund.
