ICT is Early Childhood Development
ICT is committed to Early Childhood Development for the betterment
of its community and the children and families its community.
As an active participant in its community, ICT encourages input
and feedback from community leaders, parents and other early
childhood development professionals. This interaction has helped
ICT craft its programming into a very effective community asset,
helping children of all backgrounds and races to develop into
positive and successful community members.
ICT’s programming accomplishes this through three unique
and equally important components:
ICT’s Coach, Mentor Tutors (CMT’s)
Seniors (55 to 85) volunteer as coaches, mentors and tutors
of youngsters aged 3 to 18. The interaction develops an intergenerational
connection between CMT and children that is usually not available
in the child’s natural environment.
ICT’s Learnings for Leadership®
Curriculum
ICT has identified seven key character assets to nurture and
incorporate into the lives of our youngsters for future success.
They are: Responsibility, Respect, Teamwork, Enthusiasm, Integrity,
Perseverance and Service. Each program that ICT has developed
has been designed to build one or more of these assets. This
curriculum has been co developed by ICT, The Search Institute,
and the University of Minnesota Department of Education.
ICT’s Tracking Metrics
Together with the Search Institute and the University of Minnesota,
ICT has developed a tracking metrics system to measure its success.
To date, this evaluation has proven that ICT creates a 20 to
40 percent increase in our seven key assets.
